HOLY LAND TOURS

  1. Baptism Site of Jesus
    The famous story of Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:13-17) took place in this very spot which is now known as Qasr el Yahud (Castle of the Jews). The site lays on the banks of the Jordan River east of Jericho, connecting to Jerusalem and other biblical sites such as Madaba, Mount Nebo and the King’s highway.

  2. Church of All Nations
    Also known as the Church or Basilica of the Agony, The Church of All Nations enshrines a section of stone in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus is believed to have prayed on the night of his arrest. The Basilica of the Agony (alternate name for the church) likely got it’s name from the popular phrase in the bible where Jesus was in sorrow and agony, knowing the future ahead of him.

  3. Church of Annunciation
    When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her she is about to give birth to Jesus, tradition believes that The Church of Annunciation is the actual site where the prophetic gift took place. It is located in the center of the city of Nazareth, where the lower grotto was the home of Mary (site of the Annunciation). The upper church (available in our Worship Room section) serves as the local Roman Catholic parish church – a stunning 170 ft high architectural achievement.

  4. Church of Multiplication
    The full name The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish got its name from the first miracle of Jesus where he fed a multitude of 5,000. Taking five loaves and two fishes, Jesus prayed to heaven where he then divided the food up and fed the thousands who ate and were full. The stone in the center of the church is believed to be where the miraculous meal is laid. The Church of Multiplication is in Tabgha, on the northwest short of the Sea of Galilee.

  5. Church of St. John
    This Byzantine sanctuary commemorates the birth of John the Baptist. A church that holds regular services, the most revered site inside the church is a grotto on the left. It is believed to be the home in which John the Baptist was born to Zechariah and Elizabeth. John received his name from the powerful moment he baptized Jesus, and proclaimed him the Messiah. It was John who recognized saw the spirit descend like a dove and he explicitly preaches in his Gospels that Jesus in the Son of God.

  6. Golgotha
    Deep within old Jerusalem lays Golgotha (also Calvary), the site where Jesus was crucified. The early church knew that the place where Jesus was crucified looked like a skull, to be more specific, a cranium. This name represents in Greek letters, the Aramaic word, Golgaltha. This sacred spot now lies inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, together with the Stone of Unction (where have his body was prepared for burial), and where his tomb lays.

  7. Birthplace of Jesus
    The site of Jesus’ birth lies in Bethlehem, about 10 kilometers south of the city of Jerusalem. The Church of Nativity was built upon the belief (since the 2nd century AD) that this was the actual place where Jesus was born. It is the oldest Christian church in daily use. The original church was built in 339 AD by the mother of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine before being damaged by a fire in the 6th century. The site also includes Latin, Franciscan, Greek Orthodox and Armenian convents and churches as well as a pilgrimage route.

  8. Last Supper Room
    The Cenacle (also known as The Upper Room) is the place where it is traditionally believed that The Last Supper was held. The Last Supper is an event where the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his Apostles in Jerusalem before his crucifixion. But apart from the iconic and famous event that took place, it is also believed that this room is also the same site where the Holy Spirit alighted upon the eleven apostles after Easter.

  9. The Milk Grotto
    The Milk Grotto (Magharet Sitti Mariam “Grotto of the Lady Mary”) is considered a sacred site where tradition believes that the holy family (John, Mary and Jesus) took refuge here during the Slaughter of the Innocents. It is here that Mary nursed Jesus, and a drop of her milk fell to the ground, turning the cave white. It is believed that scraping the stone inside the cave and mixing it with water, young mothers could boost their fertility and quality of their milk.

  10. Mount of Olives
    The Mount of Olives is known for it’s staple view common in many Holy Land pictures. It is named for the olive groves that once covered its slopes. It is currently now the Jewish ceremony of over 150,000 graves for more than 3,000 years. Tradition believes that this is the place where Jesus ascended to heaven, and when he returns back (Zechariah 14:4)… the resurrection of the masses will begin starting from this very spot.

  11. Mary’s Well
    The book of Luke describes a famous event where Mary is visited by the Angel Gabriel to prophesy about the birth of Jesus (known as The Annunciation). St. Gabriel’s church was build over the springs where the water from Mary’s well originates from. This spring, is also believed to be where six year old Jesus was sent by his mother to fetch water.

  12. Stone of Unction
    Right in front of the entrance of The Church of the Holy Sepulcher lays the Stone of Unction (also known as the Stone of Anointing). This is the stone where Jesus’ body is prepared for burial by the piety of Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea. A large mosaic tells the story of the death of Jesus and this stone is famous for people to lay their souvenirs and holy relics to be prayed upon. “Jesus body was prepared for burial using spices and myrrh, in a new linen cloth” (Apocryphal Gospel of Gamiliel).

  13. Tomb of Jesus
    Located inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is where tradition believes to be where Jesus was buried. It is located within the site of Golgotha (where he was crucified) and the Stone of Unction (where his body was prepared for burial). Inside the center is a stone edicule (little house) is where the Tomb of Jesus Christ (the 14th station of the Cross) lays, where tradition believes he lay buried for three days – and where he rose from the dead.
